Baptisms 13th September 2015
Gopal and Gaurie Poudyel were baptised today, with many of their Nepali Christian friends from Palmerston North coming to support them. It was a lovely service. Ian Reid spoke on Micah Chapter 6 and what the Lord God really wants is our lives, not our sacrifices.

12 Hours of Prayer - 12th June, 12 noon to 12 midnight!
The church recently held their third 12 hours of prayer session, having had one approximately every six months. These are wonderful opportunities for people of all ages, children included, to come into the church and pray creatively. 'Prayer stations' are set up where there are props and suggestions for how to pray around a certain theme. There were prayer stations about the upcoming short term mission to Papua New Guinea; about Nepal recently ravaged by severe earthquakes; about forgiveness, saying sorry, and various other relevant topics for us all.
Anzac Themed Service - 26 April 2015
For the first time, this year we had an Anzac Service with a theme of sacrifice. Whilst the sacrifice of NZ'ers in wars was acknowledged, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ's life for the sins of the whole world was upheld as the ultimate sacrifice. Nigel's comprehensive presentation explained the peace that comes at the end of war does not last, but Jesus, the Prince of Peace will return to reign in an everlasting kingdom of peace.
Deo Maya's family from Nepal welcomed - 15 March 2015
Deo Maya's parents, brother and sister-in-law have been waiting to come to NZ for years. Circumstances seemed to be making it humanly impossible to get here, but thanks to our God for answering all the prayers and bringing them safely to New Zealand. They have now been reunited and are all living in the Manawatu. Her family are Hindus, but were willing to come to church and be introduced and welcomed by us. Her brother Gopal who speaks English thanked the church for our prayers and monetary gift.
A big welcome to the Poudyel family.

Family Camp 20 - 22nd February 2015
This was held at Foxton Bible Camp, with over 100 attending. Mark Grace introduced a series for the adults called "Life on the Frontline"; the frontline being where, and with whom we spend the most time on a daily basis. The kids had a great programme provided and everyone enjoyed fun at the beach on Saturday afternoon. Family Camps are wonderful opportunities for bonding together socially and spiritually.

Nigel Pollock, National Director of TSCF, Mark's boss in his other role, spoke a very fitting message. All the Elders prayed for Mark and he was given some significant gifts by Nigel.
