End of year break-up for childrens' ministries 2012
It started off with fun and games with a Thai theme, then a devotional talk from Peter McIvor a former missionary to Thailand. Awards and prizes were presented and the evening finished with a delicous barbeque.
Peter and Dianne McIvor retired from Thailand
On Sunday 22 September Peter and Dianne took the service, summarising their mission work in Thailand over the last 37 years. They did this in such an interesting and varied way showing how they endeavoured to bring the love and knowledge of the Lord Jesus to the Thai people.
Peter and Dianne have now returned to live in New Zealand.

Commissioning of new elder
Mark Grace was commissioned as a new elder, in the service on Sunday 10th June. The church is delighted to have Mark in this leadership position, and he is ably supported by his wife Emma, who also has teaching and leadership qualities. Mark works fulltime with TSCF (Tertiary Students Christian Fellowship) a mission to students and graduates in New Zealand.
Good Friday 2012
The Feilding Christian Leader's Network organised a combined churches service in the Civic Centre, which was wonderful and packed out. Following this there was a procession of carrying the cross to the town square where there was prayer for the town, and then the march carried on to the Salvation Army for morning tea, hot cross buns and fellowship. Jesus was remembered and honoured in this town today.
Sunday Before Easter
The account of Jesus's arrest, trial, crucifixion burial and ressurection, was read from John's Gospel, by a variety of people, including children. Appropriate music and slides accompanied the readings and it was a moving, powerful service.
Barron's take up the batton!
On Sunday 26th February, Kevin Barron was formally commissioned as Community Pastor. In these photos he and Patrice are telling the church about themselves and how God led them to come to Feilding. In the middle picture the elders are praying for them, and on the right is Liz Rongonui who so ably sang a beautiful wiata as a blessing on them. Kevin and Patrice and their two children Katie 16 and Thomas 13, come to us from Whangerei. Their position is full time and the church is excited about their appointment and how God will lead them to serve the people of Feilding, with the full support of the church.
Norm and Shirley Lind Retire
Also on Sunday 26th February, Norm and Shirley were formally thanked for the wonderful work they have done over the past five years as Church Workers. When Norm left teaching five years ago he started as the Church Worker, doing two days a week, and more latterly this was extended to three days. He and Shirley have helped numerous people both in the church, and in the wider community. He established great links with the neighbouring school and kindergarten and a helpful sharing of facilities and community spirit.
The elders prayed for Norm and Shirley and their retirement, and the church looks forward to lots more years of happy association with them. Norm was jokingly referred to as 'Moses' handing on the batton.
